Air Fryer Spring Rolls with Edamame

Crispy spring rolls filled with stir-fried vegetables, edamame beans, and aromatic Asian seasonings. Onion and ginger form the flavor base, with bell peppers, bean sprouts, and a blend of hoisin, soy, and teriyaki sauce. Air-fried until golden and crispy, these rolls are lighter than traditional deep-fried versions and perfect served with rice and sweet chili sauce.

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook onion and ginger in a pan over medium heat until translucent.

  2. 2

Add bell pepper and bean sprouts, stirring gently, and cook over medium-high heat for a couple of minutes.

  3. 3

Add edamame beans, spices, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce. Stir and cook over high heat for about 3 minutes to reduce liquid slightly.

  4. 4

Unroll phyllo dough and keep unused sheets moist by covering with a clean, damp cloth.

  5. 5

Place approximately 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each sheet. Fold the bottom corner up to cover filling, fold in the sides toward the filling, and roll into a spring roll.

  6. 6

Brush lightly with oil. Place in air fryer at 180 degrees and cook seam-side down for about 8 minutes until golden, then flip and cook the other side for about 4 minutes until crispy and golden.

  7. 7

Monitor during cooking to prevent over-browning. Rolls are done when crispy and golden.

Tips

Tip 1

Keep phyllo dough moist under a damp cloth to prevent drying and cracking.

Tip 2

Rolls can be made in different sizes by cutting phyllo sheets lengthwise for smaller spring rolls.

Tip 3

Monitor rolls during air frying to ensure even browning without over-cooking.

Good to Know

Storage

Refrigerate cooked spring rolls in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat in air fryer at 160 degrees for 3-4 minutes to restore crispness.

Make Ahead

Prepare filling up to 1 day ahead. Assemble and refrigerate uncooked rolls for up to 4 hours before air frying.

Serve With

Serve with steamed rice, sweet chili sauce, and fresh vegetables such as cucumber and carrots.

Common Mistakes

Watch

Do not over-fill rolls to avoid bursting and uneven cooking.

Watch

Do not skip brushing with oil to avoid dry, non-crispy results.

Watch

Do not allow phyllo to dry out to avoid cracking and splitting during rolling.
