Instant Pot Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

One-pot pressure cooker fettuccine with shrimp, chicken broth, heavy cream, butter, and Parmesan cheese. Noodles cook directly in the sauce at high pressure for 7 minutes, then frozen shrimp finish in residual steam. Ready in under 30 minutes with minimal cleanup.

- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon parsley, dried

- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded
Instructions
- 1
Add chicken broth, cream, garlic, salt, pepper, parsley, and butter to the Instant Pot.
- 2

- 4
Allow a natural pressure release.
- 5
Remove the lid and stir the noodles and sauce together.
- 6
Add the frozen shrimp to the pot and stir.
- 7
Replace the lid and let steam using residual heat without pressure cooking or using steam setting.
- 8
Remove the lid and stir until the shrimp are pink and fully cooked.
- 9
Slowly sprinkle in the Parmesan cheese and mix to combine.
- 10
Serve immediately.
Tips
Alternate noodle direction when scattering to minimize clumping.
Do not use pressure cooking or steam setting for the final 5 minutes to avoid overcooking shrimp.
Good to Know
Refrigerate in airtight container up to 3 days. Not recommended for freezing due to cream-based sauce and texture of reheated shrimp.
Prepare mise en place and measure all ingredients. Do not cook ahead; best served immediately after assembly.
Serve immediately while hot. Garnish with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan if desired.
Common Mistakes
Do not skip the alternating noodle scatter to avoid clumped, stuck pasta.
Do not use the steam setting or pressure cook during the final 5 minutes to avoid overcooked, rubbery shrimp.
Do not add cheese before removing from heat to prevent clumping or separation.
