Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwiches with Au Jus

Beef roast braised low and slow, then shredded and layered on buttered, broiled hoagie buns with sautéed onions and melted Swiss cheese. The rich au jus sauce is made from the braising liquid blended with caramelized onions, beef broth, and aromatic herbs, served warm for dipping.

Good to Know

Braise roast and prepare au jus up to 1 day ahead. Reheat roast and sauce in slow cooker on low before assembling sandwiches.
Serve sandwiches immediately with warm au jus in small mugs for dipping.
Common Mistakes
Do not skip shredding roast finely to avoid tough, chewy sandwich texture
