Speedy Microwave Baked Apples with Walnuts

- 3 tablespoons maple-flavored pancake syrup
- 1 tablespoon water
- vanilla ice cream(optional)

Remove cores from apples to within 1/2 inch of bottoms, being careful not to cut through. Peel the top half of each apple.

Combine brown sugar, raisins, walnuts, melted butter, and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Spoon about 1/4 cup of the sugar mixture into each apple. Place in a shallow microwavable dish.

Add water to the bottom of the dish. Brush maple syrup over the tops of apples.

Cover with waxed paper. Microwave on HIGH for 10 to 12 minutes or until apples are tender when pierced, rotating the dish after 5 minutes.
